Kyoto Sushi in Lakewood seeking for FOH Team Member

Kyoto Sushi & Grill is seeking professional, detail-oriented Service Staff to join our front-of-house team. The ideal candidate demonstrates refined hospitality, understands the pacing and etiquette of Japanese dining, and takes pride in anticipating guest needs to deliver a consistently excellent experience.

This role is well-suited for individuals who value precision, teamwork, and elevated service standards in an upscale restaurant environment.

Key Responsibilities

Provide warm, attentive, and polished service throughout the guest experience

Guide guests through the menu, including sushi, rolls, traditional Japanese dishes, and beverage offerings

Maintain proper timing and flow of service in coordination with sushi chefs and kitchen staff

Set, reset, and maintain dining areas to Kyoto’s presentation and service standards

Handle reservations, seating, and guest inquiries with professionalism

Ensure cleanliness, organization, and visual excellence of the dining room

Uphold Kyoto’s service standards, etiquette, and hospitality expectations

Qualifications

Knowledge of sushi, Japanese cuisine, and sake

Previous experience in an upscale, full-service restaurant environment

Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-standard setting

Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends

Second language proficiency (Preferred)

Selection Process

Only qualified candidates will be contacted for an in-person interview

Selected candidates will complete a two-week training and evaluation period

Pay: Minimum wage + tips

Requirements

Restaurant experience: 1 year (preferred)

Food Handler Certification: Required

Work Location: In person
