어번 경찰은 4월 21일 일요일 이른 아침 머클슛 카지노에서 발생한 무차별 흉기 공격으로 한 남성이 목숨을 잃었다고 발표했다.
사건은 해당 오전 1시 30분경 카지노 내부에서 발생했으며, 29세 남성 피해자가 게임 테이블에 앉아 있을 때, 뒤에서 용의자가 무작위로 접근하여 목을 찔렀다고 경찰은 전했다.
용의자는 31세 남성으로, 사건 발생 전 피해자와의 어떠한 접촉도 없었던 것으로 밝혀졌다. 이에 경찰은 이번 사건을 무작위 범죄로 분류했다.
용의자는 살인 혐의로 같은 날 오전 8시경 킹카운티 교도소에 구금됐다.
